Moulin took shots of the grounds of the fair with its intricate buildings, statues and pavilions, nighttime light displays that could be seen from a hundred miles away, the Food and Beverages Palace, and the Court of Reflections, which featured a reflecting pool and original sculpture. The renovation of the museum, housed in the old fairgrounds administration building, which was also at one time used as an airport, is set to include three theater spaces where visitors will be able to participate in community events and lectures, as well as two virtual reality experiences. The Pan Am Clipper experience will simulate a 1930s flight over the Island’s fairgrounds on an air path to Honolulu. The Bay Bridge Cable Walk Experience allows you to “walk” on the newly built bridge with the fairgrounds rounding out the throwback experience made possible by state-of-the-art technology.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed and city officials toured Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island on Wednesday where a transformational new neighborhood is taking shape on the site of the former naval base. Mayor Breed and city officials traveled across the Bay by ferry on what will be new regular service between the San Francisco Ferry Building and Treasure Island come January. The two decades in the making project on Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island has seen massive strides recently in housing, transportation and infrastructure development. "It's amazing to see what this place is going to become for people and how this place is really going to begin to come alive again," said Mayor Breed. The Treasure Island Ferry Terminal was just completed this summer. At build-out, Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island will boast stores, restaurants, offices and 300 acres of new parks.

San Francisco real estate investment firm Stockbridge Capital Group and developer Wilson Meany have announced the start of construction on The Townhomes and The Flats at Yerba Buena Island, a collection of 31 residences ranging from 2,100 to 4,200 square feet. The groundbreaking comes as nearby construction on The Bristol, a six-story condominium building comprising 124 modern residences, nears completion with move-ins starting in early 2022.
