After 20 years of hard work, the first new construction homes on San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Island are hitting the market at a time when house hunters are looking for the island development’s combination of urban access and natural beauty. “Buyers are yearning for less density, a slower pace and a return to the important things in life,” said developer Chris Meany, whose firm Wilson Meany built the new collection of condominiums and townhomes on the island in San Francisco Bay. A new collection of condominiums and townhomes is going up on scenic Yerba Buena Island, marking the first stage of a development that will ultimately turn the San Francisco Bay island into a full-fledged neighborhood. Architectural Digest reported that sales have begun at The Bristol, where 124 new construction condominiums will give residents sweeping San Francisco views as well as easy access to 72 acres of green space that includes five miles of trails, a sandy beach perfect for launching, and the newly constructed Hilltop Park. The Yerba Buena Island homes at The Bristol range in size from studios to three bedrooms, all designed by New York-based architectural firm Hart Howerton.
