As a software engineering leader for an AI company, Parker’s work often demands focus and flexibility. Living at The Row Homes has made it possible to transition smoothly between the two. “Our day starts with a trip to the dog park, taking in the fresh air and great views with a cup of coffee before heading back to begin work,” he says.

“From day one we felt welcome in the community,” he says. “Everyone stopping and chatting and offering helpful guidance, coupled with the regular events, helped us integrate quickly and feel like we had bought into a friendly and caring community.”
One memory in particular continues to stand out.
“At the first community social event after moving in, so many neighbors took the time to welcome us, introduce themselves and offer help to get us settled and oriented, making us feel immediately included. The staff saying hello and knowing us on a first name basis also feels so friendly and settling.”
Those early introductions have grown into familiar routines. Neighbors stop to chat while walking the trails. Community gatherings offer a chance to reconnect rather than simply meet in passing. Living on the island has also influenced how the family spends time outdoors.
“It’s certainly encouraged with the great walking and biking trails. Even our dogs have doubled their exercise levels,” Parker says.
With parks, trails, and waterfront access just steps from home, being active no longer requires planning. It’s simply part of the day. Looking ahead, Parker is excited to see the neighborhood continue to evolve. “As the island grows and adds more facilities, we will probably spend more time on the Island and less time in the city.”
