Weekends Made for the Waterfront
Saturday afternoons offer perhaps the easiest entry point.
Off the Grid Treasure Island returns to Cityside Park on September 12 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., bringing food trucks and live music to a waterfront setting with 180-degree views across the Bay. This fall series is free, pet-friendly and continues each Saturday through October 17.
The Treasure Island ferry provides ease of access for all visitors, with extra times on Saturdays for Off the Grid, free with an RSVP at @offthegridsf.
Once on the island, you can really make an afternoon of it. Arrive for lunch, linger on the lawn and leave some time for a walk along the water.
Sunday mornings provide a quieter bookend. Yoga By The Water takes place at Cityside Park on September 20 and 27, from 10:15-11:15 a.m. This all-levels vinyasa class is held outdoors, pairing an hour of movement with fresh sea breezes, open sky and Bay views.
It is a rhythm that feels particularly suited to life near Treasure Island: an active morning, an unhurried afternoon and enough open space that neither becomes overly scheduled.

September Sounds Better by the Bay
The weekend of September 18–20 is particularly strong for live music.
It kicks off on Friday, with Live Music at Mersea Restaurant and Bar from 12-3 p.m., followed by Friday Jazz Night at Gold Bar Whiskey Distillery & Tasting Room from 6-9 p.m. The latter pairs the genre-blending sound of Bay Area band, Sueños, with cocktails and sunset views from Gold Bar’s historic 1930s Art Deco setting.
Country on the Bay, on September 19 from 2-9 p.m., brings American Idol winner Chayce Beckham to the waterfront, alongside additional live music, line dancing, local vendors and food.
Sunday, September 20, changes register again. Jazz on the Bay, from 2-9 p.m., moves through jazz, funk, soul and Latin jazz, accompanied by local makers, food and an outdoor setting overlooking the San Francisco skyline.
Live music is becoming a rich part of Treasure Island’s weekend cadence. The September calendar reinforces the point, with recurring performances at Mersea, Friday jazz at Gold Bar and Sunday sunset DJ sessions continuing through the end of the month.

A September Finale with a Sense of History
The final Saturday of the month, September 26, offers a special occasion.
From 7-10 p.m., the Treasure Island Swing Dance returns to Treasure Island Museum. Inspired by the golden age of air travel, the museum’s benefit pairs live music from the Nick Rossi Swing Six, with cocktails and a one-night exhibition of rarely seen artifacts from its Pan American Airways collection.
It’s an unusually fitting finale to September: part dance, part history lesson, and a distinctly connected experience of Treasure Island’s past.

An Island Rhythm, Close to Home
Of course, the appeal of September here isn’t dependent upon having tickets or an itinerary.
Miles of San Francisco parks and trails, waterfront paths and the island landscape make it just as easy to spend a morning walking, cycling or simply being outside. The Yerba Buena Island lifestyle was conceived around precisely this balance: restorative nature and daily movement paired with access to community, culture and the city beyond.
That duality is central to the Residences at Yerba Buena Island. Home can feel quietly removed, while Treasure Island’s waterfront life sits nearby and downtown San Francisco is just a short ferry ride across the Bay.
The final weeks of September make the arrangement particularly compelling. There is plenty to do, but very little reason to hurry.
Discover life at the Residences at Yerba Buena Island, where the best of the Bay is always close to home.
